"This revised edition is appropriate for all students in the health sciences and distinguishes itself from other atlases with its excellent dissection photographs, overviews, and clinical correlations. Each chapter includes osteological and radiographic images associated with the area, which results in repetition of figures throughout the book. It would be better to combine the osteological and radiographic images at the end of the four major regional sections rather than repeating plates in multiple chapters. The chapter on the perineum (chapter 38), omitted a few structures. This is not equivalent to a comprehensive textbook, but it provides more information and clinical comments than other basic atlases. easy reading,

this book is fantastic. the illustrations are phenomenal and the text and descriptions are simple and easy to follow. My only anatomy class up until this point was one semester of basic anatomy in high school and atlas of clinical gross anatomy makes it seem like ive been studying it for years!

About the Author
In September 2006, MOSHE KAI CAVALIN became the youngest student to take college classes in the United States. He was eight years old. In spring and fall 2007, he became the youngest student to make the dean's and president's honor lists, at ages eight and nine respectively. At the age of eleven, he earned his second AA degree with a 4.0 GPA, making him the youngest student in the United States to have graduated summa cum laude. In addition to his academic achievements he is an accomplished martial artist, pianist, and soccer player.

A Fantastic Book for Pre-Teens, Teens, and Parents Who Want to Inspire Their Kids

Great book! Remarkable "full scope" coverage in a short & sweet "quick read". Invaluable. Get 10 of them and give them to your friends & relatives!

My favorite parts of the book are:

1) Moshe Kai describes how probably the single biggest key element in his tremendous successes is that when he chooses an endeavor-- whether scuba diving, martial arts, or of course his math & physics classes-- he puts his "whole heart" into it. Then he follows through with adequate time, planning, and effort.

2) MK describes the mind-boggling bureaucratic obstacles he faced, which was a remarkable "real-world" education in itself.

3) MK describes not a "lost childhood", but rather a very happy childhood spent scuba diving with colorful fish and friendly dolphins, training martial arts in the park, and shared with a wonderful family. There were some heartbreaks and other mis-haps, as befalls pretty much everyone, but overall MK easily dispels his critics' theories that his spectacular achievements must have caused some sort of "unhappy childhood". Instead, MK describes great times that anyone would enjoy.

Finally, his purpose throughout the book-- and even its title-- is that lots more kids "can do" what Moshe Kai has done. On page 44, MK writes (sic) "I do not like to share my inner thoughts because they are the essence of my being.... I only expose my inner feelings with hope that I may lead some kids to see my success and believe that they can do the same or better. If one kid can accomplish it or go far beyond because my book, I will be overjoyed."

I know for a fact that other kids can achieve what MK has done: that's why I developed the "FromZeroToCalculus" ® System (website: FromZeroToCalculus.com), where rapid advancement is attainable.

Again, I highly recommend Moshe Kai's book, "We Can Do", about how he entered college at age 8 and graduated at age 11 with an Associate's Degree Summa Cum Laude and a 4.0 GPA. Enjoy it, be inspired by it, and give copies to your friends and relatives!

Remarkable Human Being

I bought this book hoping to motivate my elementary-age child, instead I was inspired myself. Moshe Kai is a remarkable person not only for his long list of impressive achievements, but also for his extremely courageous and magnanimous character. As a young student in a junior college he became very disillusioned with how the student activities fees were wasted on parties, instead of stimulating speakers, so he ran for student office. The college administrators conspired against him, and his friends warned him to give up the attempt, but Moshe ran anyways on principle. Naturally he lost, and the school retaliated by denying him academic honors and scholarship money. "I was not sad at the pen pushers' attitude because I knew I was correct."

As a result, Moshe lost a year in his education with a forced vacation from his studies. No where in the book does Moshe call them out by name. He names only people deserving praise and leaves out the names of those who treated him cruelly. "...many base individuals do terrible acts for personal gain. To understand this process and let go and not revenge for acts done by base persons is divine."

Instead of fretting about things he cannot control, Moshe puts his trust in his Creator that things will work out, "My faith in my Creator led me to believe somehow that I would find a solution to my problem."

But, this is not a very religious book, as much as it is a book written by a person with an indomitable spirit who just happens to be religious. Another excellent quote: "When I experience events going against me, I think two ways: At a certain point, the bad events will end and I need to be resilient and patient and wait until the good waves start to come ashore. The sun always will rise over the darkness."

He does discuss the methods his parents used to teach him and emphasizes that patience, resilience, and practice are key. Even geniuses have to work hard!!

So, in short, this book is about the successes of a remarkable person, who is hard-working, patient, and emotionally mature beyond his years. Buy it and you might be inspired to try things you thought not possible and to learn patience when the going gets difficult.

I really enjoyed this book. He truly is pretty remarkable. I'm especially impressed on his views of society and that he came to such solid views so early in life. I hope that when I have kids, I can be such a dedicated parent as this kid has.

About the Author

Wayne L. Winston is a professor of Decision Sciences at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and has earned numerous MBA teaching awards. For 20+ years, he has taught clients at Fortune 500 companies how to use Excel to make smarter business decisions. Wayne and his business partner Jeff Sagarin developed the player-statistics tracking and rating system used by the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team. He is also a two time Jeopardy! champion.

Not bad, but not as good as expected

I am an intermediate to advanced Excel user, so my review may reflect that level. As others have said, it looks like MS rushed this book to the market, evidenced by so many errata, which can be disappointing especially when the solution is wrong. On the other hand, there are some very interesting and genuine uses of various Excel functions to solve business problems.

I wouldn't recommend this book for beginners. If you're trying to learn Excel, this is not the book. It is not a book to teach excel, but a book to teach you what you can do with Excel to solve everyday problems, given you're familiar with the mechanics of excel.

I would recommend it with these caveats. And getting Walkenbach's book on Excel functions along with this would be very helpful in my opinion. Best of luck in your endeavors.

About the Author

David Newsome is a lecturer in environmental science at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. His research interests include investigating the environmental impacts of tourism and recreation in national parks and nature reserves, exploring the use of  avifauna as a nature based tourism resource and the management of human-animal interactions.

Susan Moore is part of the School of Environmental Science at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Her natural area tourism research includes human perceptions of impacts, and associated planning, management and monitoring concerns.

Ross Dowling is Associate Professor of Tourism and Head of the School of Marketing and Tourism at the Edith Cowan University, Joondalup, Western Australia. He is Treasurer of the Ecotourism Association of Australia and is Vice Chairperson of the Forum Advocating Cultural and Ecotourism in Western Australia. For his contributions to the environment he has been awarded a Mobil Environmental Prize and a New Zealand Conservation Foundation Citation.

About the Author
"Mark H. Barry was a successful national weight lifting champion, author and trainer. He was born in Chicago in 1896 the son of an engineer and inventor. His father's family was of Scottish descent by way of Northern Ireland and his mother's family traces their origins to New Amsterdam in the 1600's. He was the U.S. Olympic Weightlifting coach at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was the first Olympic weight lifting coach for the U.S. He was a successful feather weight champion in the American continental weight-lifters association (ACWLA) in the mid 1920's After his success as a weight lifter he focused on teaching others. Berry advocated drinking milk and focusing on compound movements especially heavy squats for building power and bulk. He is considered one of the pioneers on weight lifting with his classic books physical training simplified and the Mark Berry bar bell course. He also edited several magazines published through the Milo Barbell Co. Mark trained a young John Grimek who he met in the late 20's. Grimek would later win the Mr. America and Mr. Universe titles. After his success with Grimek and others he was selected to be the head coach for the 1932 and 1936 United States Olympic weight lifting team of which John Grimek was a participate in the later. He continued to instruct throughout the 40' and 50 as a head physical trainer for the BUR Barbell Company". -(From Wikipedia)

Physical Training Simplified CSIPP Edition

I purchased a copy of Mark Berry's, Physical Training Simplified and Alan Calvert's Super Strength reissued by Create Space Independent Publishing Platform last summer. While Berry and Calvert content is excellent, I cannot say the same for Create Space Independent Publishing Platform (CSIPP). These two books we scanned which is ok. The problem is they were not proof read for scanning errors, and there are a multitude of errors. I would not recommend CSIPP books unless you like proof reading. After reading the two books from CSIP, I started buying from Bill Hinbern's World Famous Super Strength Training. To cut to the chase, I will not spend an addition penny on CSIPP books.
